Dinesh Ruhela ("we", "our", or "us") operates the mobile application The Hindu Calendar (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Our App is designed to be privacy-conscious. We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or phone number directly.

Data Collected Automatically (Third-Party Services)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements and keep the App free. AdMob may collect and process certain information from your device, including:

Device Information: Device type, OS version, and unique device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID / IDFA).
Location Data: Coarse location (country or city level) derived from your IP address, used to deliver regionally relevant ads.
Usage Data: Information about your interactions with advertisements shown inside the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

The automatically collected information is used exclusively to:

Serve contextual or personalized advertisements via Google AdMob.
Analyse general usage trends to improve the App's performance and fix bugs.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties beyond the ad partner described above.

3. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5+, we request permission to track your activity using Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you deny this permission:

No IDFA is accessed.
You will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (contextual only).

You can change this permission at any time: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → The Hindu Calendar.

4. Managing Your Data and Opting Out

iOS: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable tracking for The Hindu Calendar.

Android: Go to Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID to opt out of interest-based ads.

5. Data Retention

We do not store any personal data on our own servers. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained per Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not target children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take immediate action.

7. Third-Party Links

The App may display links or ads from third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
